I realised that eventually I’d need to create a personal website to introduce my research. The university’s website is quite outdated, and with an uncertain transition in my next-term appointment, this site offers a reliable way to share my work. I am currently an Associate Professor at Dalian Maritime University. My research focuses on urban boundary-layer meteorology, air pollution and exposure, environmental and engineering fluid mechanics and thermophysics.

📚 My Research

My research interests encompass urban micrometeorology, atmospheric air pollution, and turbulence-resolving numerical modelling. I am particularly focused on the fundamental dynamics underlying the complex interactions between bluff bodies and fluids, with an emphasis on engineering-environmental fluid dynamics and boundary-layer turbulence.

I am highly engaged in exploring topics including: urban wind hazards and warming; outdoor ventilation driven by complex micrometeorological forcing; downscaling mesoscale perturbations into building-resolving large-eddy simulations (LES); air pollution dispersion and exposure; computational fluid dynamics and thermophysics in engineering practices. My research seeks to address critical questions surrounding urban microenvironment sustainability—areas of growing academic and public concern in the face of significant challenges posed by global climate change.
